Two Residencies, a Teapot and
a Nudist Beach

A four-person show by Joi Murugavell and Raphy with guest artists, Benjamin Pattin and Matt Frock

Friends can be found anywhere. Sometimes they live next door and sometimes they live in your phone. ‘Two Residencies, a Teapot and a Nudist Beach’ is a duo show by two friends who live far from each other in terms of geography but always close by in each other's pockets.

The title of this show can also be read as fumbling through new experiences while trying ever so hard not to taint them with stone hard thoughts and habits from the past (that was always the intention anyway). In 2023 Joi attended a residency in Spain while Raphy attended a residency in Mexico. They kept in touch like penpals would, sharing photos and stories of their creative journey away from their homes in Australia. The visual result of this mini exodus will be exhibited at Frock Gallery in Belgium.
